Xmega32E5 timer in "CTC" mode (closed)
I just got burned by that one too. Some ISRs clear the interrupt flag automatically. Others don't. Sometimes you find both of these on different bits in the same flag...

XMEGA E5 timer problems
I said that I was missing something obvious. The timer overflow interrupt flag (unlike many others, like the RTC overflow) does not get automatically cleared by entering the ISR...

Atmega328 TQFP gets hot.
Other notes on your PCB: - As mentioned, your ground and Vcc traces are long and thin. You want short fat traces here to reduce impedance and voltage bounce - Traces should...

ADC idle current
Looking back thru my notes, the diff amp pulled 2mA while the entire ADC (including the diff stage) about 5mA. This was on a 16D4 rev B running at 8MHz. Increasing the ADC...

ADC idle current
The diff input stage is rather power hungry; one one project, I switch to single-ended mode before shutting down the ADC between measurements. /mike

MK2 burned. USBtiny burned.
Check the voltage between your board's ground and the programmer's ground (with the programmer NOT connected to the board). It should be close to 0V. Likewise check the voltage...

ATmega32u4 Schematic for Musical Interface
There's nothing wrong with putting the pads for an LED or button in a production board. Just don't load the parts once everything is working. Unless I am very tight on space or...

What value is this capacitor?
While MF (megafarad) is still off in the future, kF (kilofarad) is quite common in the supercapacitor world. As for M versus m, that's a pet peeve of mine. The last 1MW laser...

Which size for bootloader is better?
A bootloader is a program that lets you change the program in flash using some other method than an in-circuit programmer. Common means include uploading new code over the UART,...
