pin order of atmega32u2 doesn't make sense?
@armstack As the picture of the pinouts in my original post show, the Atmega32U4 isn't the problem. It's the 32U2 that has the "unnatural" pin order.

pin order of atmega32u2 doesn't make sense?
@Simonetta, ye, I don't know if that's true but it sounds plausible.

pin order of atmega32u2 doesn't make sense?
Yes the pinout is correct, it's shown in this document on page 2, Fiugure 1-1.  http://www.atmel.com/Images/7799... Yes, you can get "reverse mount" USB connector, even...

Which decoupling caps on Atmega32U4?
frog_jr: Got it. Since my power source is pretty clean (pc USB hub) I probably can get away with 4. Well, then ...

Which decoupling caps on Atmega32U4?
Ye, good layman explanation. I get a glimpse of the logic behind that. I'm using 4 "sprinters" with 0.1µF to compensate leads, and 2 "marathon runners" with 1µF to compensate gaps...

Which decoupling caps on Atmega32U4?
@joeymorin I see. The teensy2.0 makers used "1µF" instead of the recommended 10µF, because there is another 1µF in the circuit (on UCAP), and by this they reduced the amount of...

First attempts with an ATMega32U4-AU.
Hi lc2047. I've ordered the ISP programmer, and it should arrive about next week. Maybe some fuse bits are wrongly configured, but I wonder why other report me their ATMega32u4...

Yes, a Leonardo as reference wouldn't hurt.

First attempts with an ATMega32U4-AU.
Hi Torby! A preinstalled bootloader comes with every ATMega32U4. As for the crystal, I can't say if the crystal is working, is there a chance to check it without an oscilloscope?

First attempts with an ATMega32U4-AU.
Alright, I pulled RST with 1k up. RST is on 5.15v now, as my multimeter say. Still Windows doesn't detect any device. Moreoever, I built a wire bridge from HWB to GND (no resistor...
