Apple 1 clone made with AVR parts
Initially I thought that AVR was also emulating the 6502. Question: are 6502's still so widely available? And I think one could pull a project of the sort, putting the entire A-...

Case for the microPDA
Normally surface unevenness can be obscured by black matte paint. ;) I don't really think that trying to get "factory look" for home projects is a goal worth wasting too much time...

Case for the microPDA
I recently learned to make pretty robust things of arbitrary shape from copper wire frame, stockings (or whichever elastic mesh material you have) and epoxy. Not sure what to...

I2S via the USI possible?
@zainka: cs8416 and ad1955. I never really tried to refine their definitions of I2S or whichever serial bus they're using, just made sure that signals are compatible and it worked...

The max freq. an AVR can be clocked
I tried to clock an ATmega16-16 at 5V with 18.432MHz, didn't work. I think this isn't a rule, but a good example that MHz rating is there for a reason.

I2S via the USI possible?
Thanks Zainka! I'm still a little curious, because chips that I worked with (spdif receiver and dac) explicitly provided/wanted LRCLK with BITCLK, yet they called that I2S....

I2S via the USI possible?
@zainka: interesting, from my (somewhat limited) experience, they are pretty much I2S signals and difference is only in bit alignment and msb/lsb first directions, which usually...

Programming with AVRDUDE has several articles and tutorials, even their own opensource programmer circuits for AVR. They start with a simpliest programmer comprised of several resistors...

I2S via the USI possible?
I2S can be slow if samplerate is low, although that must be checked with the spec of the chip you're going to use. But, I2S has BITCLK and LRCLK. Does USI have support for...

Pot at ADC, digit not stable
1) add an rc network at the ADC input, you don't need any extra glitches from the pot wiper; 2) average many samples. for example, take 16, sum up and divide by 16. Or better, use...
