Asynchronous events without interrupts?
I'd stay with one AVR. You have parity bit to see if there's an error. PS/2 protocol has a Resend command. In case of an error you can exercise it until you get the right code.

Fade LED using timers only
Yes you are. You're implementing software PWM and avoiding hardware PWM. What glitch said, allow more time for the interrupt routine. By the way, if(count >= 255) virz=1...

Step-down converter by AVR
Based on my very limited experience, the MOSFET you selected looks like something too beefy for an AVR to pump through. Good RDSon, but very large gate charge, Qg. Try selecting...

Collaborative File Management?
The tutorial suggests that you can even sync repositories by email, if regular internets are not well. Heh, you could actually sync covertly by posting diffs in some public forum...

Collaborative File Management?
I've just learned about Mercurial. Jim, you might want to try it. It's really very simple and you don't need to setup a dedicated server for it. Any machine with an external IP...

how to read and interpret TrueType Font files...
Unless you're going to display them on a high resolution colour LCD where antialiasing is possible, be prepared to be disappointed with the results. Most outline fonts are hinted...

ATMEGA88 ADC read problem
Heh, I spent a few gruesome hours a few days ago with a similar problem: forgot this L/H stuff. BTW, avr-gcc allows you to just read ADC, which is a meta-16-bit-register. I'm not...

AVR8 FPGA soft core
A 6502 was my choice last time when I tried, too. AVR would be a nice possibility because of the gcc toolchain though, something neither 6502 nor 8051 have.

AVR8 FPGA soft core
I can't wait until someone less lazy than me tries it out and reports LE count and other impressions. This core is new, but how it compares to the existing ones? Is it not...

compiling on a Mac - PC compatibility
I use Smultron to write code and I compile in command line. Running make in command line is nothing scary, really. I tried to tune XCode to use avr-gcc, but failed miserably....
