SAMG55 - I2S - 48Khz
Actually, disregard all this. I got what you are trying to do. Yes, if you just connect 12.288 MHz crystal and route it to PCK4 without divider, then it will all work.

And if you are not Neil Young working on a Pono player, then you will get close enough for any practical purposes.

SAMG55 - I2S - 48Khz
Actually, it looks like both PLL can only run from 32kHz crystal (looking at Figure 18-1. "General Clock Block Diagram" in the DS). So if you are using USB, then you will have to...

SAMG55 - I2S - 48Khz
I ran G53 at 49,152,000 (max 48 MHz) for the same exact reason and it did not seem to mind under normal room conditions.   I don't see why 12.288 MHz would not work.

The only way is to slightly overclock or underclock to match the required frequency after all the dividers.   You have two PLLs, one of them can be used for USB, another one...

You are correct. In AVR, only code executing from the bootloader section can write to flash. So you will need this section (it can be a part of your bootloader, if you want to)....

Atmel Studio 6.2: Failed to launch program
Then it looks like it is either a problem with programmer, the MCU or connection between them.   There is also a chance that support for AVRISPmkII is broken in AS.   I...

Atmel Studio 6.2: Failed to launch program
Does "Read" next to "Device signature" work? If it does not, then there is something wrong with either the part of the programmer.

What "debugs"? Can you describe exactly what are you doing, including all the buttons you click?

Atmel Studio 6.2: Failed to launch program
AVRISPmkII is just a programmer, it can't debug.
