Hi,

I'm encountering a problem with an Xmodem transmission over Hyperterminal. I'm using an xmodem-bootloader that works fine so far, I have no problem with uploading the application code to the system with my computer. When using certain different computers (all XP SP3) it doesn't work, on certain others it does. The prompt for sending the file always appears, if one tries to send the *.bin file then there is no package transmitted and the process runs into a timout after a while. I compared all settings for the port and for the Hyperterminal, they're all equal. It also never works with USB-Serial converters. Does anyone have a clue what could be the problem or which free alternative I could use instead ?
Thanks very much,
Mat

When I was developing some Xmodem code in an AVR I found that Hyperterminal had some part of the protocol it did not implement correctly. Other terminal software such as TeraTerm, RealTerm, etc. worked fine so I'd get yourself a better terminal program.

(personally I choose TeraTerm: 4.66 is here: http://sourceforge.jp/projects/t... - just realised I've only got 4.61)

thank you for the hint, this is a nice terminal program - unfortunately same behaviour : works on my computer, not on the other one. Maybe the serial port is defective ?

Edit : just tried a USB-Serial converter together with TeraTerm - same problem
