Hi Freaks,

Has anybody used wxWidgets to create GUI apps on AVR32?
I got this suggestion in another post on this forum and I would like some info/tutorials on this.

I have just started learning wxWidgets with Dev C++ and would like to use it to code a simple app. (like the minimalist window app.) on AVR32 and a GLCD.

Thanks.

Thanks, Cliff. Sorry, I realized after I had already posted that it was in the wrong forum.

Sure. Here are some basic ones:

That wxWiki site has some very good basic info. on wxWidgets.

I have also attached a wxWidgets "manual" which explains about it from scratch.

Here is what I have done so far:

1. I have followed instructions as mentioned in the link below:

http://wiki.wxwidgets.org/Dev-CP...

2. So based on the instructions above, I downloaded Dev C++, then wxWidgets DevPak and then imagelib DevPak

3. I then opened up a wxWidgets project in my Dev C++ (I did not need to change any of the Dev C++ compiler options as mentioned in the setup guide link)

4. I then ran a simple minimal wxWidgets program to see if everything was working and it worked.

So here is what I would like to do:

1.Build a simple app. GUI using wxWidgets. Say a simple menu which says "start timer" and "stop timer".
2. Download this app. to AVR32 (if possible?) and run it on the AVR32.

So I was looking at two things:

1. Code the timer program in AVRSTudio and generate the hex file for AVR32.
2. Build the wxWidgets GUI in Dev C++.

What I wanted help with was:

1. Can I code the running timer program in AVRStudio(using C)and create a .hex file with it for AVR32?
2. How do I "mate" the two? in other words how do I program the AVR32 to get the GUI and the AVR32 timer app.?

I saw a lot of posts that mentioned QT and AVR32. Should I switch over to QT? Or is it possible to use wxWidgets with AVR32?

Sorry I am a newbie and thanks for your patience on this.

p.s. I tried to upload the manual and it is about 6MB.
Here is the name of the book:
