That's strange. I have both programs as above and just recently did a complete unistall of the older version to install winavr 20080610 without problems.

Now that I know I will NOT un-install winavr 20080610  ...just in case.

I've uninstalled winavr 20080610 before and never had a problem with Acrobat Reader or any other program being removed.

I'm just cleaning up my old laptop using win98 and installing new Studio and new winAvr.
As I messed up the install I unistalled winavr 20080610 and everything related to it disappeared including the winavr folder. :?

It definitely should not do that.

The uninstaller uses the WinAVR-manifest.log file that is located in the WinAVR install directory. That log file contains a list of all directories and files that were created at the time of installation. This list is used to delete the files and directories that were installed.

Then there are a number of registry keys that are removed that were added at the time of installation.

And finally the shortcuts that were created.
