I am currently using the Mega644 and in the datasheet it says that the Analog Comparator is switch on by default, I am not using it so I have to switch it off to save power. The same for the Mega128.

Not that I am really concerned that the comparator is switched on by default, just wondering why it is like this.

Anyone know why?

AFAIK it has been that way on every AVR since time immemorial.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.

I've never met a pig I didn't like, as long as you have some salt and pepper.
