Hello,

Today, I updated Atmel Studio to the latest version ("AS7"). After the restart, my ATMEL-ICE wasn't recognized anymore by AS7, so I looked at peripheral devices to see the driver wasn't installed.

I suppress the ATMEL-ICE from my computer to make it reinstall the driver when I plug it back : a pop up say the device installation has been successful, but still no driver in the device parameters.

All the links towards ATMEL-ICE driver are redirected to microchip homepage, thus I'm stuck. Do you know if I have a way to install the driver manually ?

Best regards,

11.4 Driver and USB Issues

11.4.1 How do I get my Tool to be recognized by Atmel Studio?

This should happen automatically, but sometimes the Windows driver does not recognize the tool correctly. To correct this, you have to check that the tool is listed under the Atmel node in the device manager in Windows. If your tool is not listed, try to find it under Unknown devices. If it is located there, try to reinstall the driver by double-clicking the tool, click the Driver tab and choose Update Driver. Let Windows search for the driver. The driver should be reinstalled and the tool should be displayed under Atmel. Now, the tool should be usable from Atmel Studio.

Yeah, I already did that. But when I let Windows search for the driver, it fails online as on my computer. That's why I hoped another solution since this one does not work. :S

Thanks anyway :)

Here is what changes in the device manager when the ICE is plug:

...

-> Other Peripherals

     -> Atmel-ICE Data Gateway

     -> Mass storage controller

...

and both have no driver.

Can someone with a working Atmel-ICE post his driver ? If I have it I can try a local search.

Just install AS7 and it'll install all the USB stuff (you are almost bound to use AS7 for debugging anyway).

Hi, I had an Atmel-ICE and now I bought a new one, but my products are working with the older one and it is not working with the new one.
