I looked all over Atmel's site for the source for avr32-gcc, but I can't seem to find it. I also didn't see a link to it in the EXE files that were distributed.

Did I miss it? Does anyone have a link for me?

I would recommend fetching it from http://avr32linux.org/twiki/bin/...

You will find Binutils and GDB patches on the same site as well.

Thanks! How would I go about using gdb? Does it interface with the JTAG ICE mk II? Do I need special drivers for this?

Download the toolchain from atmel.com, then you get all you need.

You will need gdbproxy to interface JTAGICE mkII, gdbproxy uses the normal JTAGICE mkII driver already installed by AVR Studio or in Linux some libusb directly against the USB device.
