When to set Sleep Enable

Generally the Atmel datasheets are pretty clear, but I'm trying to figure out how to interpret this tidbit:

The SE bit must be set (one) to make the MCU enter the Sleep mode when the SLEEP instruction is executed. To avoid the MCU entering the Sleep mode, unless it is the programmer's purpose, it is recommended to set the Sleep Enable (SE) bit just before the execution of the SLEEP instruction.

Are they implying there's some sort of danger in leaving the SE bit set all the time?

And technically.. I already have an SEI instruction immediately preceding my SLEEP, and I'm not willing to let anything get between them! (reasons of atomicity)
