The AVR32 hasn't been available in large volumes yet, so I guess it's a bit early for that. But I would guess there is some design going on

btw: I would imagine not everybody is too fond of spam in signatures...

What spam?
You mean:

Quote:
Please click on the Google ads on my page for which I receive money! Thanks!

What's bad about that? Oh, you mean the www.venganza.org ... well just you click there. It's a parody religion. ;-)

It's click fraud for one thing. Also, you're advertising something you're making money from in a not very discreet way. Some people call that spam.

Selling stuff you've made is explicitly allowed by the forum posting guidelines as long as it doesn't cause too much noise. However, what you're doing does not qualify as "selling your stuff", and putting ads in your signature does qualify as "too much noise" IMO.

Uhm, I'm NOT selling it, it's just a nice request.
IMHO the point of advertising is for someone to see you (the advertised company). And I don't do the fraud thingie. I never used any script, I don't click on the ads myself (as stated in the google adsense list of rights or whatevers the word, the thing where you click accept ;-) ). To date I have approx. 50 clicks from some nice people.

Wow, first post in the AVR32 forum and everyones mean. I guess I'll stick to the AVR forums, where no one has a problem with it.

I'm sorry you feel that way. You did ask what was bad about the signature, and I gave you my opinion. I didn't intend to be mean.

I'm not going to argue about the click fraud thing. It's just that from your signature, you might _appear_ to be making money off people clicking on ads they have no genuine interest in.

That signature is certainly obnoxious. Not only does it ask for money, it's also in color and bigger than the message text ... both in terms of font size, and in terms of quantity of text. If it came in email, I'd certainly flag it as SPAM.
