I'm stripping my executables to save some space, but I get this warning I don't understand.

steven@pe-v200-ubuntu:~/src/demo$ avr32-linux-strip demo
BFD: stGVmIcl: warning: allocated section `.rela.dyn' not in segment

Does any one know what this means? And if or why I should not just ignore it.

avr32-linux-strip is GNU strip 2.17.atmel.1.2.1 20060623
and
avr32-linux-gcc (GCC) 4.2.1-atmel.1.0.3

I guess that no one knows the answer to this.

Could someone just confirm that they have the same warnings please. That would help give me some confidence it's not something I'm doing wrong.

Quote:
The .rela.dyn section contains the relocations that are needed by the dynamic linker (or run-time loader if you prefer) that are used to bind a shared library into a newly loaded executable.

I've seen it, doesn't seem to matter. If the proggy runs, so what?

I like cats, too. Let's exchange recipes.
