I have an xmega talking to a W5200 chip. I only send 32byte of data to a local server every 5 seconds. It looks good for a while, then after lets say half an hour or half day the W5200 SPI gets broken. Its MISO line become randomly an output even when the master did not finish to send the address and data byte number to be output.

I did try two W5200 already. I use an WIZ820IO.

I am going to try the parallel interface, maybe it is something wrong with the SPI. Both W5200 were manufactured in 2012.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

George.

Did you tried to change de uC?

We had problem with a uC (atmega644) that we used with WIZ810MJ, one pin seens to output 5 to 2,5V and there was no way to go to 0V.

I did not change the uC, but I tried with SPI in one port and UART in SPI mode from another port and same thing. I tried 16Mbps SPI, 8Mbps and some 60kbps, same thing. At the beginning everything looks good, then W5200 outputs garbage. The signals from XMega looks as should be even after W5200 gets crazy.
