For a few years I've used these RN-42 bluetooth modules. I've always just tied RTS and CTS together and forgot them.

Now I've discovered that in order to put the RN42 into deep-sleep I need to switch the CTS line high.

Because I've always just tied RTS/CTS together I'm not sure what to do. Will this plan work?

1) just ignore the RTS pin on the bluetooth module

2) run a GPIO from my XMEGA to the CTS line of the module.

So, can I just leave CTS LOW whenever I want to use the module as typical before, and move it HIGH whenever I want to switch it to deep sleep?

Thanks for your insight!

If you look at page 4 of this data sheet; https://www.sparkfun.com/datashe... and look for the definition of the RTS and CTS you will find out you assumed correct.
