Hi freaks,

I'm looking to start to learn the USB protocol.  So first of all I've found USB sniffer programs, a bit like Winshark.  How would I go about connecting the USB Host, a SAM Development Board to say a USB keyboard and have access to the traffic?  Could I just put a USB Hub I between the two said devices?

I think you need to do a bit of reading about how USB works - it is not like ethernet, so your hub trick won’t work. Since you’re writing the host side, you’ll need some special tools and/or a lot of luck. At a minimum you’ll want a logic analyser - the cheapy ones will do low speed usb.
I suggested the Mindshare book sometime ago - give that a read. Not some kiddy book that was suggested by others.

I looked at the totalphase beagle products - def not cheaper! There’s also elisys.

Not something the average joe would need to use, thus they tend to be expensive.
