I am working on a high volume project that requires a USB cable with a type A connector on one end of a 1 meter cable, and a strain relief on the other with leads coming out. 15K a month. I have not found anything yet. Can anyone point out a supplier?

I also need a USB wall wart 1A 5V with a Type A receptacle connector in it. I have found some suppliers for this but was hoping to hone in to a better place to locate them. Again, 15K a month.

Both of these are for the USA market.

I have tried alibaba and globalsources.com but have been underwhelmed with the responses. Any recommendations?

Is your product low-speed that you do not want to P&P a receptacle? Where is 1A 5V requirement from, if it is supposed to be USB?

No RSTDISBL, no fun!

The USB cable will be used to charge the battery only. No USB communications.

With a 1A 5V wall wart the intention was to allow the unit to charge faster than the 500ma 5v source from the USB port of a computer. It can be 500ma if that is all we can find.

Then why do you want to comply to USB specification when you do not want to comply to USB specification? The thing with USB A plug and two strains of copper is not a USB cable, AFAIK.

there should be zillion factories in china.
a couple of years ago I have tested at least 20 different cables. I got the cables just numbered 1 through 20 as there where different versions(length, ferite bead Y/N, finishing on the wire side) from a number of factories.
We just checked them, tested them and tolled or buyers what cables we thought were OK and what was not.
I quick checked my mail archive, but have not found references to factories, so can not help you in that matter, but there should be a lot of chineese factories that make those cables.
Also they can make you a custom cable if you have the numbers that they are interested in.

My employer has used these guys: http://www.panintl.com/

Our projects are higher volume (about an order of magnitude higher), so I'm not sure if they'll do 15K/month or not. They have reps based in the USA.
