I just updated my AVR Studio to v4 from v whatever I had before and now I am confused, or at least more confused than normal.

When you're debugging code using the simulator, I can see it stepping through instructions, but how do I see the register or port contents. I used to see them in the window on the left side. Now I see the register and port names, but no contents.

On the left side of the window, you'll see a pane with 3 tabs. Make sure that the I/O tab is selected.
You'll see a list of subsystems in the pane.

There should be a '+' sign next to each subsystem name.
Click it, and you can see all the registers associated with that subsystem, along with a hex and binary value for each register.

Next to some of these registers you uncover, you may see another '+' sign.
Click that, and you will see a break-down of each individual bit in the register, its meaning, and its logic level.

Well that's where I thought I'd find them.

Oh! You have to make the window real wide. They're way out to the right.

Thanks
