I have just realized something. You can make absolutely anything better with the inclusion of an ATTiny13.

Think about it, you really can make any individual object better with an ATTiny13 and a little bit of creativity. This includes things rational people would not consider putting a micro controller in/on/around. For example:
-Rocks (ATTiny13 controlled mineral embedded photovoltaically charged lighting system)
-Pieces of Fruit (Use specific durations of blue LED light to keep it fresh)
-Lumps of Hair (A pager motor controlled by an ATTiny13 reacting to input and timer interrupts + some of those googley-eyes and you have a Dust Puppy)
-Small Birds (The possibilities are f***ing endless)
So, what would you make better with an ATTiny13?

That's the first I've heard of blue LED light keeping fruit fresh. Does anyone know if it really works? If so, what wavelength is used? I look forwards to throwing all those pyramids out...

I have sometimes used this when I'm totally clueless as to where to put a thread. Not saying this is the case here, but it's possible.

I am so excited by this discovery, I'm going to buy some ATTinys and eat one every day! Now what king of DIP should I get to go with my chips? :P

So if I tape two Tiny13's together, one will make the other better, but then it would make the first one that much better, and so on recursively, until they would be so good they would just ______?

The ATtiny13 isn't bad, but sometimes I need the power of ATtiny25/45/85.

Oddly, it doesn't work with fingers. Trying to get a DIP out of a socket many years ago I wound up with at least half the pins stuck in me. This did not improve my finger, or my attitude. :roll:

Sorry on the language! I'll watch that in the future. As for the thread placement, I was concerned that because the thread is not particularly serious some people may not want it in a forum that is considered serious, despite the fact it does in fact have to do with AVR 8bit.

If I'm not mistaken it was blue, but I don't completely remember. The reasoning is well raised fruit and vegetables build energy stores into themselves not unlike how animals have fat. Even after being harvested they can use these energy stores to continue to develop, and fruit and vegetables that are continuing to develop don't rot. Apparently certain LED light can also help meat retain its freshness a little longer, but I forget what color/wavelength and the exact reason why. Also, bathing goods that may have bacteria on them (such as eggs) in IR C-band light will kill the bacteria and can kill salmonella. If you eat eggs raw and don't live in a country were eggs are controlled for disease/bacteria and go through a rigorous sterilization process (like Japan) apparently building your own sterilization rig isn't particularly hard or costly.
