Been using AS7 after a few months of inactivity. Help will not load!

Atmel Studio (Version 7.0 1931)

Atmel Kits (7.0 122)

It attempts to load from http://alexandria.atmel.com/query/as70.query?appId=AS70&l=en-US&k=k(MSDNSTART)&rd=true

From "View Help" in the Help menu, it just sits there, with dots running around in a circle. Has something changed or just offline or such?  Hmm, once I got "502 Bad Gateway"!

That is where my browser goes when I click "View Help"! Am I a version or more behind the curve?

I have the same problem.  I set studio to load help locally and problem solved.

Sorry for teh late reply, but here is how I do it:

First, from the HELP drop down select SET HELP PREFERENCE>LAUNCH IN HELP VIEWER

Then, again from teh help drop down select ADD AND REMOVE HELP CONTENT:

Make sure that SOURCE is ONLINE(as shown in picture)  Leave LOCAL STORE PATH as it is.

On the Left side there will be a window called CONTENTS.  Yours should be empty at teh moment, or there might be a couple of default items.

You should start to see a list of items that you can ADD. simply click on ADD next to the topics you want help on.  You can click one item, or several.  Then click UPDATE

After Studio downloads and updates teh help files into Studio, you can exit out of teh Manager, and then go back to the HELP>VIEW HELP

And you will see on the left side a window with the help topics you downloaded, and on the right will be a list of the installed books.

Once you have done this a few times you will see that my instructions are a little redundant as you have tabs in the manager and the viewer that allow you to jump between things, but I elected to do a detailed step by step.

Hope this helps!

YEP! Since Atmel Studio 7.0.1931 you have missed out on:

  • Atmel Studio 7.0.2389
  • Atmel Studio 7.0.2397
  • Microchip Studio 7.0.2542
  • Microchip Studio 7.0.2594

Microchip-Studio V7.0.2594 goes to a new URL for online help: (Don't know when this change happened though)
