Hi All, I'm new to '32 although I've been using the 8-bit devices since they were first released. Now I want to develop around the UC3A3256, so I d/l and installed Studio32 2.2.0.

The Atmel site says "The UC3 SW Framework is included in AVR32 Studio 2.0. No separate download is required to use from AVR32 Studio", but all I see is documentation in the help system - no source files.

Do I also have to d/l "AVR32-SoftwareFramework-AT32UC3-1.5.0.zip"? But then I see the thread from a couple of days ago by mifi42 from which it seems that it won't work with 2.2.0 anyway.

So, do I d/l "AVR32-SoftwareFramework-AT32UC3A3-0.7.0.zip" instead? Does that play nicely with 2.2.0? Maybe d/l 1.5.0 as well, just to see what is new in it (78MB vs 43MB, although I note that it now covers several of the UC3 series, so maybe nothing much is really new)?

I hope someone can advise me.

Thanks, Roger

Yes In avr32 studio The UC3 SW Framework are integrated. You can select it File->New->Example. If you download AVR32-SoftwareFramework-AT32UC3-1.5.0.zip it can not integrate it into avr32 studio simple, because it based make file.

Not quite. Crate a new "AVR32 C Project (Make)" and AVR32 Studio will you make to build the project instead of the internal builder.

Where is framework 1.5.0?

I have installed the AVR32 studio 2.3 and GNU toolchain.
I wish to look at 1.5.0 framework file but I cannot find them. I installed using all default settings.

Note: I can and do use the "Framework" button to add driver components to my project and yes, they are indeed 1.5.0 drivers (says so in the header).

I want to be able to browse for example source files for the drivers, for example.

Thanks,

It is built-in to the 2.3.

"File - New - AVR32 Example Project" builds you a ready-to-run example. Then just cut and paste to your own system.

This is the method I've found works best. If you have a better route, please tell us so! The example projects are poorly documented, but you'll learn a lot by reading lots of code. :)

The 2.4.0 release of AVR32 Studio will allow you to browse the software framework file system from within the project explorer. There should be no need to download the AVR32 software framework separately. See http://distribute.atmel.no/tools...
