Yesterday a friend gave me a EVK1100 with the CPU labeled as described in the subject. He told it is an engieering sample and I have to use a special tool set.

Can I use the AVR32 Gnu Tools / Studio from the offical Atmel sites (e.g. AVR32 Studio 2.7 from the Beta site)?

Do I have to expect any glichtes based on the CPU?

Yes, there are glitches, read the errata list in the datasheet. You can use the latest studio, but you must use a special engineering sample variant of the software framework.

Grab AVR32 UC3A Software Framework 1.2.2ES for Engineering Samples from http://www.atmel.com/dyn/product... site. There might be something newer as well, didn't look too hard.
