I have downloaded the newest "Atmel studio 6.1 update 1.1 (build 2674) installer-Full" on my computer. No problem during installation. But after I am trying to execute a template, it says: "The toochain com.Atmel.AVRGCC8.C is not installed to Atmel Studio.".

I am pretty sure my install pack contains the target toochain.

Anyone can tell me why this problem happens? Thanks a lot !

Make sure AtmelToolchainProvider extension is insalled and enabled.

Tools->Extension Manager->Installed Extensions->AtmelToolchainProvider

If it was disabled you can enable it by starting Atmel Studio as administrator.

if it is not listed in installed extension you can attach install log "AS_INSTALLLog_*.txt" from temp folder to know why it is failed to install.

Thx, I will try what you said. But one thing I don't get is , I re-install the software in another computer in identical process, it worked.

If the problem you encountered was happening in all installatuions, I can guarantee you that there would be a lot more noise about this than what is the actual case.

There are many of us that has installed AS6.1(2674) with no problems at all.

There is something differing in your two machines making the install or AS6 behave differently.

I encountered the same problem showing AVRGCC8 is not installed. I was trying to open the sample project task2 using interrupt for USART on atxmega16a4u. The message said: "The toolchain.com.Atmel.AVRGCC8 is not installed to Atmel Studio. Please goto Tools->Extension Manager and install it properly." I installed it more than once and restart the PC, restart the studio. It still shows the message!
