For a collection of tinyAVR multiplication routines gone ballistic, visit http://stackoverflow.com/questio.... (Arhem. What or who added non-pertaining tags, and how to rid them?)

Have you looked at the 16x16 routines generated by the various C compilers? I'm sort of assuming there's probably been some thought put into those too.

As far as I can see, the Tags don't work - and have never worked:

Top Tips:

  1. How to properly post source code - see: https://www.avrfreaks.net/comment... - also how to properly include images/pictures
  2. "Garbage" characters on a serial terminal are (almost?) invariably due to wrong baud rate - see: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/serial-communication
  3. Wrong baud rate is usually due to not running at the speed you thought; check by blinking a LED to see if you get the speed you expected

Tags did work but somewhere along the way they broke.  It's on the list of fixes.  I'll check on the status.

By default, all threads are tagged with the forum structure.  Other tags are added, optionally, by the OP and others who reply.

I'll have to take your word for that - I have never seen them work!

That is clearly not working - or, rather, the tags that are automatically added are entirely unrelated to the forum structure!

See: https://www.avrfreaks.net/comment...

And that doesn't work - see: https://www.avrfreaks.net/comment...

I've not tried adding tags in an OP.

I have to agree with Michael here, the tags have worked in the very beginning, but have gone potty pretty fast after the first two or so updated done to the forum to make it better (uch)

C compilers will take care of it for you. Otherwise, binary multiplication isn't hard to do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boo...
