I'm having a hard time finding a company that fits an LCD into plastic enclosures. I'm working with 20x4 LCDs and 240x320 (TFTs), and I need company names that will do mounting of these so they look saleable.

After 174 posts here how can you possibly not know that this is the wrong forum to ask that question?!?

I saw "non-technical" and just went with that. I guess it goes in off-topic forum then?

This particular forum is for issues regarding the structure of the forum itself, (not AVRs).

Off topic would be an option, but that is often for truely Waaay off topic threads.

My vote would be for General Electronics. As a hardware related topic it will be reviewed by those who are most likely to be involved in such issues.

Cliff will move it for you.

I use PACTEC KEU7 enclosure but you need the plate cut out. We have the face plates made by a machine shop with PEM thread studs in the four corners to match the enclosure and another 4 PEM thread studs where the LCD mounts. Then a membrane overlay. They may have some other ones that already mount the displays.

I like those enclosures, i didn't mention that this is for a therapeutic app. ( LED light therapy for a client's business ). These enclosures have the right look. I've learned that there are several mounting options for LCDs, like being able to just snap it into place. Do you have a pic. of finished work they did for you ? What do you mean by membrane overlay ?

thanks jerome

I do not see what is your problem. Choice an enclosure on Digikey or another place.
it is a lot of compagny some can offer milling or another work to fit the LCD.
Bopla can do it but I do not where are you in the world?.
Best regard.
Thierry

PS: I have alle equipment to make this and I am sure it is a lot of compagny too.

Alwelch: I appreciate the links. I'll talk to the enclosure company to see if they do low volume work.

Thierry: I live in San Diego, Ca. Bopal will get passed on to my client. Finding a milling company's easy, but finding someone who can give me options for mounting the display ( and have experience at it ) isn't.

I do not see the problem for assembly the display. 4 screw! when you order enclosure, they made both milling of display & holes.
If you want a membrane like the link, it cost some start tools + parts low volume = expensiv ( you have to paid a program jobb for machine ++ )
I use this technic a lot for "low volum" for 20 - 100 pieces.
