Hi all,

I'm wondering if it is possible to do a swap file on a nfs-mounted root partition. When I run swapon, I get "Invalid Argument" and that's it. Informative! So I'm wondering if it is because I'm on the nfs..

A few alterternatives:

1) I can stick an SD card in the slot and setup a swap file/partition on there
2) I can beg and plead for a RAM upgrade on the board (currently 32meg 16 bit wide, I'm not sure how big the pin compatible parts get but the biggest would be what we'd get)
3) my crazy swap over nfs idea, which would probably get the poorest results.

Some of my test scripts seem to pound on the memory space a bit, with the "free" showing kind of a low amount of free mem.

Probably for now I'll go the SDcard swap route, since I have a few SDcards lying around anyway.

Very interesting, thanks!

I'll have to run that by the unix admin guy, hopefully he'll be onboard..
