Hi,

I'm building a new version from an application. There is a custom bootloader, that I'm sure was under 8k when using AVR32studio, but is now 12k. I don't have AVR32Studio on this machine, nor do I want it, unless I must. But I would want to get my bootloader (and the application, too!) to use as little FLASH as necessary.

So, what is going on? https://www.avrfreaks.net/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=1012228 might or might not have something to do with it, has the framework functions exploded from 1.x or what? How can I find out and more importantly, what settings or flags should I set?

Thank you for your insight!

I had a mess with the standard bootloader a while back when I wanted to download it using Studio 6. I for some reason I do not remember now, tried to compile it in Studio 6, and it did not make it a size that fit the requested size. I asked some questions on this forum and found that it cannot compile onto same small size as AVR32 Studio. So I had to go back to AVR32 Studio to fix it there.

Wouldn't that just be to swap the toolchain to the version producing the smallest footprint?
