I use studio 4.18

I've pulled in AVR109 bootloader source

when I compile it I get errors, when I click on those errors, nothing happens.

If I remove the supplied make file, then compile, the error message linking works.

What is it in the make file below that blocks this function

I have been going through the make line by line commenting out lines.  I still have not found it

I changed

DEBUG = stabs

to

# DEBUG = stabs

Then saved, built, and clicked on the errors, but it still did not take me to the offending line in the file.

I never did find the issue.  Commenting out sections generally broke the code worse and hence those items could not be removed

My solution: to delete the whole damn make file.  I mean look at that ridiculous make file...who knows what the heck all that crude is for.  I'm not going to spend days justifing each line.

Instead I will add back stuff If I see a problem

After removing the make file the linking worked fine, the errors were simple and easily corrected and it compiled without error

I might be totally off here, but does your code actually run now?

I have a suspicious feeling that you need the make file as it contains the commands for the compiler/linker to put all the stuff in the right flash space.

I have only used a bootloader once and that also had a make file that made sure everything was put in the right place.
