Hey everyone,

Last night my STK500 suddenly stopped being able to program any uC I tried. Attached is the screenshot of the error I get from AVR Studio. I'm not really sure what to even look at, I haven't changed anything. The ISP6PIN cable is connected to the red stk3000D3 port. I've tried several different ATMega16's and an ATTiny2313 as well, all with the same results. Any ideas?

I thought Mega16 did go into the OTHER red socket i.e. SCKT3100A3

That error message is used fairly generically for failure to communicate via ISP. Voltage okay on your board? Part and ISP cable in the right areas? Tried lowering your ISP frequency?

SCKT3100A3 is the socket you should be using.
And for the odd chance you have what I spent a few hours with one time: check if the ISP6PIN cable is ok.
