A 10 minute demo video of Spice integrated with Kicad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

Looks useful to me.

Yes, KiCad is advancing quite quickly.  It is now ahead of many other EDA packages in capability.

Spice will need quite a lot of library work yet, but the Video shows a good looking framework.

The live-value feature would be good to teach with.

There is also a LT Spice  XVII release in Beta, but I've found (no surprise)  that LTSpice is highly Linear-corporate centric.

LTSpice support group is on Yahoo, which is very cluttered and slow. (not LTSpice's fault, they backed the wrong horse...)

The kiCad support forum, https://forum.kicad.info  is quite a contrast - no clutter, easy to search, and edit, and has good image handling.

It is also unclear how ADI take over will affect LT Spice.
