Hi!

I need the oscillator calibration for one of my MCUs. Since that feature is not available in Studio 5 yet, I thought, why not use the stk500.exe, which we use in production?

I can't, however, get the stk500.exe working under win7 64bit. It says:

Error: Could not create Stk500Common layer
Error: Could not create hex file reader
Error: Could not create source buffer
Error: Could not create destination buffer
Fatal: Make sure 'AvrCommon.dll' and 'Stk500Common.dll' are properly installed

I copied the two mentioned dll's from my old WinXP-machine, but when I try to register them:

[Window Title]
RegSvr32

[Content]
The module "avrcommon.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005.

For more information about this problem, search online using the error code as a search term.

[OK]

Is the Stk500.exe not possible to use under Win7?

I found a new stk500.exe on this site. Unfortunately no support for the ATMEGA644 I'm using. :-(

Solved it by installing the AVR Command Line Tools found here:
