Anyone familiar with elipticals and how the load motors work? I have a Sole E35 that will run 18 minutes and then fail with an E2 - motor error. Oddly the failure is when the load is reduced, not when it's first applied. Sears repair has replaced the console (main board) and the motor, but it still fails.

I peaked inside and I see a DC gear reduction motor attached to a cable (like a brake cable on a bike). Since this Dc motor has no feedback, I wonder how the system knows if the load is failing. I would assume a sensor of some kind but the repair people haven't mentioned that. I wasn't home when they changed out the motor, or I would have been nosing around and asking lot's of questions.

Would love to get a schematic for it, but so far no luck.

I quick searched and found this link:
http://www.fixya.com/support/t20313766-motor_error_sole_e35_elliptical

it mentions a couple of things including a number of other links that tell there schematics might be, did not check that further, but perhaps it helps you.

I saw that same page, but it didn't lead anywhere. The diagram is apparently for a treadmill.
