Hi,

Where can I find any place/company to make a few SMT (mix with DIP) prototype assembled PCB (or 100% SMT components).

Is there any cheap and reliable company that will make a few SMT prototypes fully assembled PCB for testing before mass production.

And what is the minimum quantity that we need to make one production batch run?

Thanks.

I've used this company for prototype assembly work that I couldn't do myself (BGA):

http://www.asktechnology.co.uk/A...

They did an excellent job, and weren't expensive.

They also do small production batches.

Can you roughly give a price estimate for a typical say 6"x6" board with all smt components (including resistors, caps, ...). I know the costing depends a lot on how many components, designs, qty, ... but do you have a range?

Say US$50 per board? US$200 per board? US$1k per board?

It's impossible to say, you will have to ask them.

If you are in the USA, Screaming Circuits is popular.

I found this company myro
http://www.myropcb.com/services-...

They quote
•$0.0125 per pin for SMD
•$0.025 per pin for DIP, TH components.

So, SMD is cheaper than DIP/TH? Does that mean a PCB prototype with FULL SMD components is cheaper than a PCB prototype with mixed DIP/TH and SMD components?

BTW, anyone try this company before? How is their service?

Chanseng,

On a per pin basis SMD might lok cheaper.
But a solder paste stencil or other form of solder paste dispensing has to be taken into consideration.
