As promised in the January Nuts&Volts Smiley's Workshop 18 - Serial Communications Part 1 - Graphical User Interfaces this is the thread to ask questions about that article.

If you are new to AVRFreaks PLEASE read:
Newbie? Start Here!
https://www.avrfreaks.net/index.p...

I'm starting this special thread to handle questions about the article since it involves the Arduino, and .NET Express - two topics that are almost guaranteed to get some of the more flammable denizens of AVRFreaks over-excited, therefore to protect the innocent I'll check several times a week (for a while) to see if any of the Nuts&Volts readers have any questions or if any of the AVRFreak denizens need to be hosed off.

BTW this is all AVR related, the source code is free and I'll even post the article for free one month after it runs in Nuts&Volts.

Hi. I am trying to follow along with your Workshop 18, Serial Communications Part 1 - Graphical User Interfaces. I went to the MS site you referenced, and downloaded Visual C# Express. In the article for Workshop 18, you indicate that there are tutorials, including videos, on the MS website that will show how to use the program - I am having trouble finding those tutorials. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

They've kind of hidden it since the last time I looked, but it is now at:

Note that there are Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier3 tabs at the top. It isn't very clear where the lessons are, but they are pretty good once you find them.
