I've just installed on a Windows 7 machine Studio (4.18) and Studio SP1, along with WinAVR. So far so good. But when I try to use the simulator 2, I get the message that the DLL (atmega48p) can't be found. Well, I can see the DLL file plain as day in the correct directory. Anybody seen this, or have any ideas?

BTW, the original simulator runs just fine.

I tried uninstalling (that didn't go well at all, kept getting a message "Install version 4.16" (!!), had to delete the files and registry entries by hand), and reinstalling, but no change.

During installation most install program "register" their DLLs so that Windows knows where to locate them. I guess something went wrong with that step during installation. It may be enough to run regsrv32 manually. Try something like:

c:> regsrv32 "c:\path\to\the\library.dll"
