Does anyone have any information on interfacing a seiko L1672B1J LCD display?
Are there anything I shoud be aware of before I connect this to my AVR?

Judging by the pinout in this datasheet, it's a standard 16x2 display with a Hitachi-compatible controller.

This is as close to a "standard" LCD as you can get, and there are some good code examples for this in the Projects section of the Academy.

BIG heads up, the seiko display I got from mouser works well but ONLY in 8 bit mode. Got thru to Seiko and found out it is in fact only 8 bit mode.

Just make sure the code you use does not use 4 bit mode and all should be fine.
Oh, was running low on i/o lines after I found otu its 8 bit only so I use the same
8 i/0 data lines to interface a 4x4 keypad too, just put a 470 ohm resister in series with each row/colum on the keypad but not between the cpu and display.

KEYPAD-470ohm-LCD-AVR for each of the 8 lines

disable the lcd when you poll the keypad using the enable line

works out ok in pratice
