You want to try buying heating oil, gas, petrol in the UK. If rises in the last month or two we're only 20% we'd be pigs in shit!

In other news a synth I got for my birthday last month was $199 but the Japanese manufacturer just announced an increase to $239 to cover transport and other spiralling costs. So that's another 20% increase. Welcome to the real World!

A vacant block of land in our street sold for AUD$2.165 million last Saturday. That is about 20% more than we paid for our block with a house on it in late 2019. I guess there is no more land being made.

I guess there is no more land being made.

Not true, in La Palma there was a bit more made last year.

But John, wasn't that new land on top of existing "land"?

Maybe but it was under the sea, now it has been added above the sea.

As soon as we go back into and ice age and the sea waters freeze then we will have more land until that ice age finishes and global warming melts all the ice and the sea level raises again. cheeky

I was looking at a Hackaday article from summer 2017, this was part of it

for grins I decide to look up today's price ....about a 39% increase...probably mostly in the last year

You’ve spent months developing your product, your Kickstarter just finished successfully, and now you’re ready to order all the parts.

Unfortunately, your main component, an ATmega328P, is out of stock everywhere with a manufacturer lead time of 16 weeks. Now what?

....2022...Be Thankful  !!! crying

Why would anyone pay that when, with a bit of care, you can buy the real deal for £2.58 each. Which is what I've just paid for 80 pcs which now sit on my bench.

Why would anyone pay that

In certain countries under US technology embargo they would be happy to pay anything. wink
