Folks,

I have had a good look here and on Google and can find no answer to this, so I assume I'm *******, but I'll try anyway!

I have two JTAGICEMkIIs that have broken ZIF sockets on the little header board that plugs into the target board. It's the bit where the PFC (flexible cable) plugs in to the board itself. It seems such a terrible shame to throw away two units for what might well be a simple fix.

Does anyone know whether it's possible to buy the little replacement PCB from anywhere? Or maybe even can you buy replacement "bars" for the PFC connector?

Hope that's clear, I'm not sure I've explained it very well, so I have attached a picture of what I'm on about. I want a new one of those basically! :p

Many thanks,

Rob

I guess you should be able to buy the connector however it will be a pain replacing it.

Maybe by removing the 10 pin header first may not be so bad. I'll be VERY CAREFULL with that part of the ICE from now on. :)

Do you know what, you talking about replacing the connector has just given me an idea. I almost always have an adapter board to plug into little Samtec fine pitch connectors on boards these days as those ten pin IDC connectors are huge. I could make an adaptor board that had the ZIF socket and the other gender of the Samtec connector.

Thanks for the inspiration! :~)

Mouser sells a item called "ATJTAGPROBE", partnumber 556-ATJTAGPROBE. I assume this is the complete header piece. It's $39.00.

I also found a reference on an Atmel support site which suggests this is the header plus the cable assembly:

Thanks, jr, it never occurred to me to search for "probe".
