It's been on GitHub for 17 days, so maybe someone has posted already. I have been using it with AVR128DB over standalone serial and found it works as expected (I was not able to get pyupdi going with the DB, only DA).

 

update:

Interesting; apparently, I needed pymcuprog to use pyavrdbg, a GDB RSP server for AVR debuggers (I am not trying it at this time; this is just for reference).

Preferred way of using pymcuprog is of course to install from pypi:

 

pip install pymcuprog

 

If you have your Python scripts folder in your PATH, then the pymcuprog CLI is ready to use.

Thanks for the heads up Ron. pyAVRdbg seems very promising as a stand-alone option for Linux, basic debugging seems quite responsive.  There are a couple of known issues, but this is early days and it is open source so I hope the niggles will be sorted out soon.
