Hey All,
Just wanted to know what the steps are in your design process. I typically do the following:
1. Take idea and determine required components such as MCU type, RTC, op-amps, etc.
2. Write software for said design.
3 Build prototype circuit on strip board and test hardware / software functionality.
4. Revise software
5. Design PCB
6. Stuff PCB and test performance against prototype circuit.
7. Make PCB / hardware / software revisions as necessary.
8. Test finalized design.
How about you guys? Do you always build up a prototype circuit on strip board or do you go directly to designing the PCB and then test from there? I feel like some of my designs are taking longer than they should because I build up a prototype circuit before laying out the PC (this may be due to my limited experience.
