hello all,

i am newbie in mic programing , i faced one issue that  i can't  write any program on atmeg8a-16 pu

i am useing software called "bitburner" to program "ATMEGA8A-16PU" BUT i can't find this device in device list

i use  USBASP to program "in-system programing"

i guess because i don't have  avrdue compatible with this device

if this assumption is correct where can find it the Suitable avrdude

please advise

avrdude supports mega8 (forget the 'a', that's just a change of manufacturing process)

Thanks Daswon,

i select atmeg8 during "  verify  " but i got this error message

 "Device signature = 0x1e0000 avrdude.exe: Expected signature for ATMEGA8 is 1E 93 07
Double check chip, or use -F to override this check."

Please advise

AS per the below data sheet the voltage should be 4.4 4.5 to 5.5 voltage , if the voltage is less that 4.4 4.5, may make this issue? and i use the uspasp to programe

You say that you are using the ATMega8A-PU, so why aren't you using its datasheet?

EDIT: However this appears to be contradicted later in the same datasheet by this diagram.

... and this partial table.

I have always considered the Safe Operating Are diagram to denote guarnteed performance. I have run AVRs at higher clock speeds at lower voltages and they work. I am not saying this is a good idea but folks do it.
