Hi there, I'm having a problem with a atmel 7 (7.0.1417) on a new computer, when I try and open Tools - extensions and updates I get an error : "Failed to compare 2 elements in the array.", see attachment.

I've tried reinstalling, repairing, I've tried installing visual studio 2017 community edition , butnothing works.  Anyone have any idea why extensions is not working?  Anyone know if there's some .net or visual studio compiler it's trying to find?  Anyone know what array it's talking about?

Any replies appreciated.

That's been reported here a few times here so you may want to search for prior traffic about this.

No solution to offer to you, but you are not the first: https://www.avrfreaks.net/forum/p...

As of January 15, 2018, Site fix-up work has begun! Now do your part and report any bugs or deficiencies here

No guarantees, but if we don't report problems they won't get much of  a chance to be fixed! Details/discussions at link given just above.

So maybe one of the threads should be closed, and the discussion concentrated in the other ... ?

Has anyone found a solution to this? It happened to me, I ended up rebuilding the entire PC to fix it and 2 days later it happened again.  Total PITA as I can't install any extensions.

Please update https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/atmel-studio/7.0.1652/as-installer-7.0.1652-web.exe it has the new Extension Manager packed with it and you should be able to install extensions within Studio from Extension Manager.
