Reason for Change:
Offer customers an option to remain on silicon rev A1 and existing software and to ensure customers may smoothly migrate their software to new silicon revision B0 by providing instructions for the MPLAB® Harmony 3 Chip Support Package (CSP) v3.10.0. This software is required if the module includes silicon revision B0.

Binary images built with CSP versions earlier than v3.10.0 must not be used with silicon revision (B0) and modules containing B0.  Version 3.10.0 may be used with silicon version A1.

I have been looking at these devices (32-bit CPU_+_WiFi) for a few years to get beyond the limitations of the Arduino UNO/Nano (ATmega328P).  I bought a 10-pack of WeMos boards https://www.ebay.com/itm/4025078... on a wager of my ability to get them "working, doing something, anything".   After loading the ESP8266 package into Arduino Boards Manager, I could get the WeMos LED to blink.  Then adding three I2C devices (an OLED display, a FM radio RDA5807, an I/O expander, and an RTC DS3231 module using the Wire.h library for the new CPU) I had a clock radio.

  I found a list of about 5000+ short English expressions on a website.  I turned each one into a string and then made an array of pointers to the beginning of each string.  Then every second, a new randomly chosen string is displayed on the OLED display, along with the current time and FM station frequency.  I could fit all the strings into the WeMos flash because there is over a million bytes of it.  The whole board runs at 47 milliAmps.  Not bad given I haven't explored the low-power modes yet.

   The WeMos board seems to do the same thing as the PIC32 Wi-Fi module Development board.  I don't understand the advantage of spending $100+ on the PIC32 Dev Kit when other CPU+WiFi boards are in the $5 - $10 range.

Difficult to better Espressif Systems' Wi-Fi SoC other than on ADC linearity and noise; both have framework (ESP has Arduino, WFI32 has MPLAB Harmony v3)

The ones at Microchip Technology recognize that issue; will be eased by the forthcoming WFI32-IoT PCBA though won't challenge ESP's 10USD.
