PBA clock constraints when using Ethernet (?)

Hi All

I thought that the EMAC in the AVR32 uses PBB clocks and so reduced the PBA clock from 33MHz to 8.25MHz (the main reason being to get the 16 bit timers to be able to count to 1s - with higher clock rates then overflow before then).

But the side effect is that Ethernet stops working. The fist thing noticed is that the PHY's ID can no longer be read.

At the moment I can't work out why this should happen when the PBA clock rate is reduced.

Any ideas??
