I usaly use a serial programmer for the avr:s like the onece in the stk500.
But i have heard rumers that you can use a paralell programmer to reset the AVR.s including fuse bits. Well yes its in the manual i know, but i whoud like a wireing diagram over a standard paralell programmer so i can make one that works with forinstans pony prog. Haven't bin able to find that...
Or is there a simpler way of resetting all the fuse bits? (And pleas no funny stuff about putting it in the microwave for 3 min) :D

the easiest and most reliable one to use in my opinion is
the one at www.electronickits.com

very dependable and does not need software just a terminal program which works in all operating systems without problems. You can build your own with their kit or just buy the fully assembled one for $29.

Hello

If you have the STK500 you can set it up for parrallel programming. It is all in the manual. I have used it to bring back AVR's that programmed the fuse bits incorrectly.

Thanks

I have successfully reset the lock- and fusebits of my ATMega8 using some pullups and switches.

It's all posted some days ago.
