hi guys,
i have some parallel communication based device (PDIUSBD12) which i have to interface to my atmega, this device is consisted of two sets of ports, one for data and other for commands. what i didn't understand is how to synchronize their working together, and from what i saw on some other parallel components this command set is pretty much common.
these are the command pins:
INT#
EOT#
CS#
A0
DMAREQ
DMACK#
RD#
WR#

i kno wthat it is a pretty much difficult to write a whole firmware for something like this (when i browsed net for infos i saw that many people frowned upon looking at the pdiusbd12), problem is i need to use this one. so....i dont ask to write the software for me, but point me in the direction where i can find some infos on interfacing this kind of devices (parallel ones in general), i've tried atmel's appnotes, philips somehow pushes more the I2C version of the device (PDIUSBD11).
so anything will do...any similar device with similar pinout i dont care if it is a parallel eeprom or anything just to see when do those pins go on and off :)

thanx a lot

Hi!
I'm not sure this is what you need, but here is what I used for a parallel interface:
1) Atmel appnote #325

HTH,

Real men don't use backups, they post their stuff on a public ftp server and let the rest of the world make copies.
