Hi there,

Some months ago, magazine elector posted a new design which was a portable OBD2 diagnostic system. The IC used was the AT90CANxx (I don't remember).
I would like to make something similar, but my problem is that I cannot find any good information about some protocols.
This design was compadible with the protocols:
ISO9141-2,
ISO14230-4 (KWP2000),
J1850 PWM,
J1850 VPW,
ISO1765-4 (CAN)

I have almost found the standards for protocols SAE J1850 PWM and VPW.

Does anybody knows where can I find information for free? I am looking for these standards.

Thanks for your time.

Michael.

I think there is some information on the Elm page; they do a series of pic chips that interface obdii. A search for elm + obd finds them, I think.

Neil,

I have almost bought an ELM327 (info: it works well). It is also real that elm electronics give some information about the OBD2 protocols, but my problem is that I cannot find information of how to write the foftware for comunicating with an ECU. I need information about the data, the timing and anything about each protocol.

Thanks anyway for your help,

Michael
