I want make a NICAM 728 coding for cable TV sending.
Google give a lot of info but I do not understand the compremering algorithm from 14bit to 10.
I love to do with an AVR but my first calcul are not very optimist. Read ADC ( 2 canal à 33KHz sampling) and sendt 728 bit strem each millisecounde....
Thank for info and

NICAM - (full name: NICAM 728) Digital two-channel audio transmissions with sub-code selection of bi-lingual operation. Stereo digital signals with specifications approaching those of Compact Disc are possible. NICAM stands for Near Instantaneously Companded Audio Multiplex and uses a 14bit sample at a 32KHz sampling rate which produces a data stream of 728KBits/sec.

I'm not sure if 32kHz 2 ADC channels will work. Else use 2 tiny AVR's and sample the data.
Or check the newest AVR. tiny45, tiny85?
