Just noticed that the new studio release (4.11) has:

"Programming/simulating support for new devices including ATtiny45, ATmega2560/2561 and AT90PWM2/3"

Anyone know anything about the tiny45 or AT90PWM2/3 ??

Intriguing! But knowing Atmel, we won't see these for at least 12-18 months....

For info about ATtiny45 and all the other new ATtiny's read this flyer (updated 2/2/2005):
tinyAVR: Get Performance and Flexibility at Low Cost
http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resourc...

In this document you can read about all new ATtiny devices such as ATtiny25, 45, 85, 24, 44, 84, 46, 86,

One new feature on all the 8 new ATtiny's are built in temperature sensor.

There's also a whole new range of 14 pins ATtinys (ATtiny24, 44, 84) to fill the gap between the 8 pin and 20 pin ATtiny's.

ATtiny45 and 24 are listed as "avaiable now", so we will probably see them within the next 1-2 years.
ATtiny25, 85, 44 and 84 are listed as "available Q2/2005".
ATtiny46 and 86 are listed as "available Q3/2005".

ATtiny45 was announced more than a year ago, so it's not really some new mystery device. The new thing about ATtiny45 is that it has built in temperature sensor. The other specs have been revealed more than a year ago.

Another new AVR is the high voltage device ATmega406 for 2-4 cell Li-Ion chargers. It's has built in voltage regulator working from 4-25 V and up to 25V tolerant pins for FET's.
